I had the DLC-7 Cuisinart for at least 35 years, probably longer, but recently decided to get a new one. I donated the DLC-7 to one of the charities and I think someone else will be able to use it for years to come. I thought I would purchase another brand, but after extensive research decided to stay with the upgraded Cuisinart model, especially since I have the DLC-7 complete 9 disc set. I was delighted when it arrived to see that the detachable stem for the DFP14BCN is identical to the one that came with the 9-piece set - DLC-7 is stamped on the stem - so I will be able to use all the old blades. This model is almost identical to my old one, so I shouldn't have any trouble working with it. I could have gotten it for about the same price at BBB with a 20% coupon, but with the Amazon Store Card will be able to spread payments over 6 months. Look forward to using it for years to come.
