Ok, I was a little nervous about ordering a reconditioned item, but the price won me over. I'm glad I went for it. Everyone has seen the commerials claiming that dyson doesn't loose suction, well they are right this thing has great suction power that I hadn't seen since my Hoover Wind Tunnel was brand new.
A bit of background.... Don't get me wrong I liked my Hoover Wind Tunnel, it has worked great for 6 years on carpet (and is actually still working), but it is terrible on laminate flooring. All my Hoover seems to do is blow the dirt around on the floor and not pick up much of anything. So I have spend the past year (since I changed the carpet for laminate flooring) using a lousy vacuum or sweeping with a broom. I finally had to admit this was stupid and even though my hoover still worked I had to buy something else.
I was pretty sure I wanted a canister vacuum to reach under the bed, behind the couchs, ect. Which lead me to either a Kenmore or the Dyson. I have two dogs who manage to track in grass and dirt on a regulare basis so the idea of a bagless vacuum has always made sense to me. So the dyson won.
This vacuum works great with the bare floor attachment, no more blowing the dirt around on the floor. I wanted the motorized head for rugs and just in case I move to some where with carpet in the future. I have to say that the vacuum sucked more carpet fiber out of the living room rug than I thought possible. I caught myself vacuuming everything in sight, from the ceiling fan to the base boards.
Now for the things that I think could be improved. Yes they are pretty petty, and I had read them in other people's reviews. The power cord could be about 10 ft longer, if I start in the hallway I have to move the cord to reach the corner of the living room. It would also be nice if the bare floor attachment would store on the vacuum. All of the other attachments hook on the vacuum.
I would buy this vacuum again and am glad I bought it.
