Thank you all who have left similar stories about the irony of this "Healthy Home" vacuum!
I agree that the vacuum has superior suction.....but the DREAD and DOOM of emptying the canister is unreal! I felt comfort in numbers when I read some of the other reviews. I mean, the canister is tapered at the bottom so everything gets trapped at the top. Even a gloved-hand can't reach it, so you have to invent a way with a really long, wooden-spoon handle, etc. to DIG it out!! The machine has great suction, so the canister is always full....and this means you need to:
1) Take the canister outside.
2) Place the entire thing inside a plastic garbage bag BEFORE pressing the release button.
3) Shake
4) Invent tool long and thin enough to dig a portion of the gross stuff out.
5) Repeat steps 4 and 5 many times.
6) Wipe off the outside of the canister.
7) Re-shower for the day because you will have vacuum-dust all over your hands and in your hair.
Oh yeah, it's also a treat when you are crouched down using the attachments and the vacuum falls on you!! You must learn to VACUUM DEFENSIVELY with this thing...one hand needs to always be in the "blocking position" while the other is using the attachments. I wish this were a joke or an exaggeration. Using this vacuum will cause injuries at some point. Be careful if you have one!!
