$*$ Hoover H3045 FloorMate SpinScrub Wide Path Hard Floor Cleaner

I owned two and would not buy another. The first worked great but died just about 14 months so I didn't bother trying to fix it. I read the reviews about noise and suction lost but decided the first worked well for a year and they must have fixed the problems by now. I liked the red color, looked durable - sold itself. The second started making a horrible sound about 7 months then suction went. I bought a new filter, filter cover to see if would help. The suction improved but the noise increased and started leaking black fluid, maybe oil, from the enclosed motor. I went back to Target and asked if they could look up in the history when I purchased it so I could call the mfg about limited 12 month warranty. They couldn't go back over 3 months. I couldn't find my receipt. They no longer carried it, Walmart no longer carried it. If the chains want nothing to do with it head the reviews.

This set up quickly out of the box; I purchased an affordable refurbished unit. Cheap thrills.



My project is a smaller (700 sq. feet) rental unit with sealed hardwood floors and travertine. I know that nothing works as well as elbow grease; that's the truth. That said. this helped speed the project of cleaning lightly soiled , sealed hardwood which I had carefully vacuumed with my Dyson first. I used a PLEDGE cleaning solution from H. Depot.The unit leaks a little and I've checked the seals twice. After cleaning, I followed up with an application of glossy Rejuvinate floor sealer. Ta daaah! IT's good to go.



Attention:Has anyone found a way to by more brushes; I can't seem to find them anywhere and that might be a problem down the line? They will eventually wear down from use.The provided brushes (one set/ white) are not meant for travertine/marble/grout and, again, are not the gray ones specified for these surfaces.
